Sébastien Haller gave an update on his medical situation via social media on Thursday. The former Ajax striker, who was diagnosed with a tumor in his testicle earlier this week, has undergone a medical procedure.
“I want to let you know that the first step has been completed,” the Ivorian international writes with a photo of him raising his thumb while lying in a hospital bed.
“I want to thank the Dortmund medical team for their exceptional help,” continues 28-year-old Haller, who exchanged Ajax for Borussia Dortmund this summer. “And I am also immensely grateful to the nursing staff at the hospital for their kindness.”
“Always a smile on his face. We hope you get better soon,” Dortmund responds to the attacker’s message.
‘I will come back stronger’
It is not yet known whether it is a benign or malignant tumor. More investigations are taking place this week at a specialized medical center.
Haller also gave an update on his situation on Tuesday, a day after the news about the tumor came out.
“Thanks to you I know this is just an obstacle on our way together,” he wrote at the time. “I will now focus on my recovery to come back stronger. I’ll see you on the field later to celebrate our next victories.”
