Halle Berry on Drake’s single cover: “He doesn’t have my permission”

But Berry also says: “When people you admire disappoint you, you have to get over it.”

Halle Berry is disappointed in Drake. On September 14, the rapper announced his new single “Slime You Out” in collaboration with SZA. The song’s cover art shows Berry being doused with green slime at the 2013 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards. Now the actress is publishing an indirect statement on her social media channels. “Sometimes you have to be the bigger guy… even if you’re a woman!” she writes in all caps on the pink text tile.

The former Bond girl does not mention the musician by name, but users quickly guess who the post must be addressed to. Lack of understanding spreads in the comments section and Berry ultimately defends himself from the allegations. “He didn’t get my permission,” the actress writes. “That’s not cool, I expected better from him!” Drake did ask her for her consent, but Halle Berry allegedly said no to the request. Nevertheless, the singer used photography. But the actress doesn’t want any trouble and writes: “When people you admire disappoint you, you have to get over it and move on.”

“Slime You Out” was released on September 15th. However, the single cover on the streaming services does not show the controversial photo, but rather the actual artwork for Drake’s upcoming album – a drawing by his son Adonis. FOR ALL THE DOGS will be released on October 6, 2023.

The rapper is currently on tour in North America with his “It’s All A Blur” tour. He will play his final show in Columbus, Ohio on October 9th.
