Half-ill David Min shoots Telstar to victory: “Nicely placed ball”

David Min only had one training session last week. The long substitute from Zaandam was sick in bed for a number of days last week, but he made the only goal on behalf of Telstar against Almere City, 0-1, deep in injury time. “The timing couldn’t be better.”

The victory for Telstar was well deserved. Coach Mike Snoei’s team got many opportunities, but the ball wouldn’t go in. Finally substitute David Min was sent deep in the 96th minute and shot the ball in flawlessly from a difficult angle. “It was a nicely placed ball.”

Lean Production

Min’s goal is only the fifth goal for Telstar this season. That is too little, Snoei agrees. “We just have to work even harder on that.” The game against Almere City was the sixth round of this season.

RKC

Min came to RKC through the youth of Fortuna Wormerveer. In Waalwijk, the 23-year-old striker played five games in the Eredivisie. On the hunt for more playing minutes, the Waalwijkers rented him out to Telstar. Due to some physical setback, Min is only two substitutes for the Velsenaren, but that is now going to change according to the match winner against Almere City.
