Gaziantep Basketball defeated Germany’s Hakro Merlins Crailsheim team 97-95 away in the 6th and last match of the FIBA Men’s European Cup 2nd Round Group K.
Before the match played at Arena Hohenlohe in Ilshofen, Germany, a moment of silence was held in memory of those affected by the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş.
Gaziantep, which started the match well and closed the first quarter with a 26-14 lead, entered the circuit ahead 50-37.
Melting the difference in the third quarter, the German team entered the last quarter behind 65-61. Gaziantep Basketball, which did not allow its opponent to take the lead in the last quarter, won the match 97-95.
Gaziantep Basketball, which had guaranteed to advance to the quarter-finals, won all six matches in its group and advanced to the quarter-finals as the leader.
Gaziantep representative, who met Büyükçekmece Basketball in Istanbul in the Turkish Insurance Basketball Super League at the weekend, could not return to Gaziantep, which was affected by the earthquake, and remained in Istanbul. Gaziantep Basketball will return to Istanbul after the match.
