National athlete Hakan Reçber won the gold medal at the World Taekwondo Championship held in Azerbaijan.
According to the statement of the Turkish Taekwondo Federation, on the fourth day of the championship in the capital Baku, one of the national athletes, men’s 63 kg, Hakan Reçber went to the tatami.
Hakan Recber beat Lebanese Ralph Honeine in the second round and Italian Dennis Baretta in the third round to advance to the quarter finals.
Hakan Reçber, who defeated Chinese Yushuai Liang in this round and Mexican Carlos Navarro in the semi-finals, reached the final.
Hakan Reçber won the gold medal by eliminating the Thai Banlung Tumtimdang he faced in the final.
