The Berlin hairdressers’ guild has no understanding of the tightening of the corona measures in their industry.
“Here you become the henchman of the booster campaign,” said guild master Jan Kopatz on Wednesday of the German Press Agency. “It is a purely political will, it no longer has anything to do with measures to prevent infection.” The new “2G plus test” rule decided by the Senate should therefore be abolished with immediate effect.
It is expected to apply from Saturday. After that, body-related services such as in the hairdressing salon are only allowed for vaccinated or recovered people with a current negative corona test. Exceptions to this are those who have been boosted, those who have just been vaccinated and those who have recently recovered, for whom this applies for three months.
He could not understand the decision, said Kopatz. “Visiting the hairdresser is demonstrably safe. Where people wear masks, I don’t need 2G plus.” Kopatz also fears that the controls will now become even more complicated. Finally, a distinction must be made as to whether a customer’s vaccination was three months or more ago and whether a test might then have to be verified. “We are demoted here to the health police,” he said. “And it puts customers off because it’s just too complicated now.”

The hairdressers’ guild was not asked at all before the tightening, criticized Kopatz. “Zero communication. And that’s very unfortunate for me.” The annoyance in the industry is great. On Wednesday there were already numerous calls to the guild.
Kopatz announced that she would seek talks with Senator for Health Ulrike Gote and Senator for Economic Affairs Stephan Schwarz, who was President of the Berlin Chamber of Crafts for a long time. “Actually, the disappointment is even greater that there was no signal from the economic administration.”
