Hainer: Incomprehension for Barça’s “public and offensive digging” at Kimmich

Confirms PSG interest in Hernández

Bayern Munich President Herbert Hainer has clearly rejected attempts by FC Barcelona to poach Joshua Kimmich and expressed a lack of understanding for public statements. He has great respect for the Catalan club, the 68-year-old told the pay TV channel “sky“. “But I don’t quite understand, I have to be honest, why they are digging so openly and offensively on our player. Joshua Kimmich is an absolute fixture with us, he is a leader, he is our third captain and has won so many titles with us and will continue to win many titles with us in the future.”

In the search for a successor to Sergio Busquets, Barça should also have Kimmich in mind. The defensive midfielder is a “top player” in his position and understands the game, Barcelona coach Xavi recently said. When asked if the Bayern professional could succeed Busquets, the 43-year-old replied: “Well, Kimmich has a contract, if a door were to open there would have to be negotiations with Bayern Munich.”

The German national player, who is the second most valuable professional in the Munich squad with a market value of 80 million euros, pointed out that he was still under contract with FC Bayern for two years. “We have big plans there,” says Kimmich. Hainer again emphasized that the 28-year-old is firmly planned for the future and that the team should also be built around Kimmich.

Hainer said he couldn’t understand the recent public criticism of Kimmich. Every player also has phases when things don’t go that way. “Only when you see what Joshua Kimmich has achieved in recent years, for Bayern, for the German national team, how he puts in every game from the first to the last minute, then I am of the opinion that he Respect is part of it, that you also concede it to him once in a while.”

Hainer on rumors about Hernández: “I also heard that PSG is courting him”

Hainer also commented on the reports that Lucas Hernández wanted to change. “I also heard that PSG are courting him. We would like to keep him with us, but we have to see what the transfer summer brings.” The French centre-back is said to want to return to his home country and therefore not extend his contract – the current one runs until 2024. The professional has apparently finally rejected the offer from FCB for a new contract until 2027, which has been available to him for months.
