BERLIN (dpa-AFX) – Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck (Greens) is traveling to several countries in the Middle East starting this Monday. Visits to Oman, Saudi Arabia, Israel and the West Bank are planned, said a spokeswoman in Berlin on Monday. The trip should end on Thursday.
The speaker mentioned the topics of the trip as switching to climate-friendly energy sources and intensifying hydrogen production. The countries of the Middle East are strongly anchored in the fossil energy system, which is why it is important to change course. It should also be about the security situation and efforts for peace after Hamas’ terrorist attack on Israel.
