Haaland’s ex-club Molde prematurely champion

Molde FK clinched the Norwegian top football league title early with four games remaining.

Manchester City star Erling Haaland’s former club are firmly on top of Norway’s elite series after a 1-0 win at Lillestrøm SK.

The team of head coach Erling Moe crowned an impressive season in which they recently celebrated 13 wins in a row. With a 15-point lead over second-placed Bodø/Glimt with four matchdays left, the club can no longer be caught.

It is Molde’s fifth league title in the club’s history and the first since 2019. Haaland had played for the western Norwegian club before moving on to RB Salzburg in early 2019. The season in Norway, like in other Nordic leagues, ends in autumn every year.
