Oslo (AP) – Goal scorer Erling Haaland only played for half of the clear 9-0 win of the Norwegian national football team in the test against Armenia.
The Bundesliga professional from Borussia Dortmund was hit on the foot by his opponent shortly before half-time when he scored the second goal to make it 5-0. Instead of celebrating the goal, the 21-year-old remained in the penalty area and initially had himself treated on the pitch. He didn’t come back in the second half.
Assistant coach Kent Bergersen reported on Norwegian television about blood on the ankle and that Haaland was rested in the second half. National coach Ståle Solbakken said after winning the friendly that Haaland wanted to continue playing.
