For BVB striker Erling Haaland, the chances of a quick comeback have decreased.
“He still has muscular problems, nothing has changed about that in principle,” said licensed player boss Sebastian Kehl at the start of the Dortmund training week.
It therefore seems unlikely that the 21-year-old Norwegian will play in the top game between second-placed and third-placed Leverkusen on Sunday (3:30 p.m. / DAZN).
Haaland suffered a muscle injury in the adductor area during his team’s 3-2 win against Hoffenheim (3-2) and only trained individually in the weight room on Tuesday. “But, as he recently said himself, he will be back soon. He is highly motivated,” commented Kehl.
Reyna could return to the BVB squad
On the other hand, Giovanni Reyna, who has recovered from a muscle injury, should be back in the BVB squad after a five-month forced break in a duel with Leverkusen.
“Gio wasn’t an issue against Hoffenheim, but that may change by the weekend. He’s been really stable for quite some time and is on the right track,” said Kehl.
