In the appeal process, the Hamburg Regional Court sentenced Gzuz to eight months and two weeks in prison at the beginning of March 2022 for bodily harm, violation of the Explosives Act and double violation of the Weapons Act. He also has to pay a fine of 414,000 euros.
It’s not the first time the rapper has been in jail. In October 2010 he was sentenced to three years and six months in prison for robbing a mobile phone shop. In October 2017, he was remanded in custody for hitting an employee at a beverage store and failing to appear at the subsequent court hearing. He was later sentenced to four months probation. He also received an animal cruelty lawsuit for hitting a swan in 2018 – PETA wanted to take legal action against the rapper, but the proceedings were later dropped.
