At the DTB Cup in Stuttgart there is a mixed cup for the first time. Mixed teams of men and women compete in this competition, which is unique to date. Live on SWR. Sunday, March 20th from 2:30 p.m
The Mixed Cup celebrates its world premiere as a new team event at the traditional DTB Cup, with a top-class international line-up. Germany plans to compete with Olympic gymnast Sarah Voss (Cologne), Carlo Hörr (Fellbach-Schmiden), Aiyu Zhu (Cologne), Lea Quaas (Chemnitz-Altendorf), Dario Sissakis and Glenn Trebing (both Hanover).
Strong competition with Olympic and World Championship experience
The international competition is strong and six competitors, like Voss, also have Olympic experience. Among others, the teams from the USA, Italy and Belgium have Olympians in their ranks.
A total of 29 gymnasts at the DTB Cup have already demonstrated their skills at one of the past world championships, and this was rewarded with a medal six times. Among others, Nicola Bartolini is at the start in Stuttgart. The Italian is the reigning world champion on floor.
This is how the Mixed Cup works
At the Mixed Cup Stuttgart, a team consists of three women and three men. Gymnastics is performed on four apparatuses, whereby the men can choose four of the six apparatuses in advance. The women can also choose – they determine the order of the apparatus in which they want to do gymnastics. There are always two women and two men on each team. There are no scratch marks.
After three devices, the intermediate result decides which two of the four starting teams are in the gold final. The last two teams compete against each other in the Bronze Final. The last device decides on victory or defeat, because all teams start their respective finals with zero points.
