The US service provider GXO Logistics Inc. assumes a key role in the European distribution of the Reebok brand. The company will support “Reebok’s omnichannel logistics throughout Europe,” GXO announced on Tuesday. For this purpose, additional space and around 500 new jobs have now been created in two networked warehouses in the Dutch province of Zuid-Holland.
The background is a partnership between the logistics specialist and the fashion retailer Farfetch Limited. After the purchase of Reebok by the US fashion and media group Authentic Brands Group LLC (ABG), its subsidiary New Guards Group took over the distribution of the label in Europe and has now started the corresponding activities.
Just a few weeks after the agreement with Farfetch, GXO was able to provide around 40,000 square meters of storage space for the new order, the company said. In the future, the two Dutch locations will handle the shipping of Reebok products to European trading partners and end consumers. Returns are also processed there. The logistics specialist also announced additional automation steps to further increase the efficiency of the processes and the performance of the systems concerned.
“We are proud to expand our relationship with Farfetch and to act as a strategic logistics partner for Reebok’s e-commerce growth across Europe,” said Luc Laurijssens, General Manager of GXO’s operations in the Netherlands and Belgium.
