Gunshot case dropped – Rust continues filming

Alec Baldwin is shooting again, work on the western film “Rust” continues because: The criminal proceedings against the 65-year-old for his fatal shot during the “Rust” filming, which killed camerawoman Halyna Hutchins, have been dropped. In addition to the western feature film, a documentary about the life and work of the dead camerawoman is also to be made in order to honor her.

Her latest video on Instagram shows Hutchins riding one of the film crew’s horses. Underneath she writes, “One of the perks of shooting a western is that you get to go horseback riding on your day off.”

Filming allowed again

Melina Spadone, the attorney for the production company Rust Movie, announced after the charges against Baldwin were dropped that a new location in the US state of Montana has now been set. Filming would henceforth take place at the Yellowstone Film Ranch in the US state of Montana. They should be completed by the end of May.

Working Weapons and Ammunition Not Allowed on Set: As Spadone announced, the use of “working weapons and any form of ammunition” is prohibited on location. “Live ammunition is – and always has been – prohibited on set.”

The camerawoman’s widower is now the film’s producer

Baldwin serves as a lead actor and producer in the western, and Hutchin’s widower serves as an executive producer. This came as part of an out-of-court settlement in February 2022: widower Matthew will serve on the film as a producer in exchange for dropping his civil suit. Cinematographer Bianca Cline is also collaborating on the work at Hutchins’ request.

The fatal incident of October 2021

In October 2021, during rehearsals for a scene, Baldwin held a loaded prop gun, which fired the shot that killed the cinematographer. Why a real bullet was stuck in the Colt and how live ammunition got into the set has not yet been clarified. Fact: The man who handed Alec Baldwin the gun that killed the camerawoman admitted he hadn’t fully checked her out, documents revealed. If convicted, Baldwin would have faced 18 months in prison and a $5,000 fine.
