In an interview with “Yahoo entertainmenton Jan. 27, Slash said his band Guns N’ Roses would likely be canceled these days. He gave the interview in connection with the new book “The Collection: Slash”, an illustrated book by guitar manufacturer Gibson.

He didn’t name a specific event, but he did tell his interviewee: “I mean, to be completely honest, I’ve never really thought about any of this. But now that you mention it, for almost everything [Guns N’Roses] did earlier, we would have been canceled today. We wouldn’t have fitted well into that environment, on so many different levels. I mean, a lot of stuff from back then wouldn’t be acceptable now. I’m just glad we didn’t have internet back then! It would have been a completely different world. Either way, I don’t worry about it. It’s just the way it is.”

The guitarist returned to Guns N’ Roses in 2016 after a 20-year hiatus. This summer they are one of the headliners at Glastonbury Festival and BST Hyde Park in London.
