Guns N’ Roses in Hanover: Opening acts, arrival, weather, tickets

For three long years of epidemics, there was no stadium concert in Lower Saxony. On Friday (July 15) Guns N’ Roses will end the corona-related lull with a show in Hanover. The hard rock group has already played in the football stadium there twice: Most recently, the band around Axl Rose and Slash defied the thunder and lightning of the sky in 2017. At that time the venue was still called the HDI Arena; since July 1st its name has been Heinz-von-Heiden-Arena.

process

The stadium opens its doors on Friday afternoon at around 4 p.m. Three quarters of an hour later, the hard rock band Dirty Honey from Los Angeles opens the concert evening. As second support, blues guitarist Gary Clark junior prepares the stage for the Guns N’ Roses from around 5:45 p.m. Finally, the main act is expected around 7:15 p.m. A few minutes delay can always be expected.

tickets

Are still available in almost all price categories! Point of cost at the well-known advance booking offices: From 74.15 euros you can take a seat in the upper tier; the most expensive tickets for seats in the lower tier cost 148.90 euros. So far, only the tickets for the front-of-stage standing area are sold out. The local organizer Hannover Concerts expects a total of almost 40,000 spectators.

getting there

Bad news for motorists: Because the Schützenplatz is not available as a car park due to the dismantling of the Schützenfest, there is no parking area near the stadium. If you still can’t do without your vehicle, you will be referred to park-and-ride offers – i.e. advertised parking spaces with a connection to local public transport. This is available to concert guests free of charge from 1 p.m. Tram lines 3, 7 and 9 (Waterloo stop), tram lines 3, 7 and 17 (Stadionbrücke stop) and bus lines 100/200 (Robert-Enke-Straße stop) go to the arena.

Persons with a “special parking permit for severely handicapped people with exceptional walking difficulties” are allowed through on Ferdinand-Wilhelm-Fricke-Weg. Access for the disabled is easy to reach from there. If you want to travel by bike, you will find a bicycle parking lot set up by the city of Hanover on the green area in front of the Stadionbad.

weather

The good news first: according to weather services, it will remain dry this time. But it won’t be the most beautiful day in July: Clouds cover the sky and a light wind is blowing. In the afternoon the temperatures are still around 20 degrees; towards the end of the concert at 11 p.m. the thermometer will only show 16 degrees. Sweaters or jackets are not the worst companions.

Miscellaneous

There will be no access restrictions, mask or distance requirements. Food and drink can be purchased in the stadium, but cannot be paid for with cash, only with a debit or credit card.

Bags and rucksacks brought along must not exceed the DIN A4 format. Also forbidden: deodorants, perfumes, professional cameras, audio and video recording devices, Go-Pro cameras, selfie sticks, tablets, laptops, power banks, stools, flashlights, laser pointers, large flags and posters, as well as food and drink – with the exception of a tetra -Pak or a PET bottle with a maximum of half a liter of non-alcoholic content.
