Guns N’ Roses announce new song ‘The General’ as B-side

It hasn’t even been 24 hours since Guns N’Roses released a new song after many years and the band is already announcing the next one. In the official GN’R fan shop, an orderable vinyl already pointed to the next release. His name: “The General”.

Guns N’ Roses polish up old songs

“Perhaps,” which was previously leaked to some jukeboxes in the US, made its way to the public on August 18th. The track was originally written during the sessions for the 2008 album “Chinese Democracy”. Back then, there wasn’t much left of the original Guns N’ Roses cast other than Axl Rose. Since 2016, however, the other creative minds behind the hard rock band, guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan, have returned. Along with Axl, the trio polished up another outtake of “Chinese Democracy,” which will appear on the B-side of “Perhaps.”

There was already a first reference to “The General” in the band’s official fan shop. If you clicked on the vinyl for “Perhaps” there, a track list appeared, which featured another new song. This is the previously unreleased track with the military rank as its name.

Like ‘Perhaps’ and previous releases ‘Hard Skool’ and ‘Absurd’, ‘The General’ is a GN’R song that came about during the lengthy recording process of the last album. Along with fellow songwriters Slash and McKagan, Axl Rose appears to have continued to tinker with the track. Possibly to make the sound sound a little fresher.

The vinyl for “Perhaps”/”The General” will be available on October 26th. It is not yet known when the songs will be streamed. It is also unknown whether there will soon be completely new music in the form of a Guns N’Roses album.
