At an LGBT cafe in the Slovak capital Bratislava, a gunman has Wednesday evening two people shot dead. Officers found the suspected perpetrator on Thursday morning found deadlet the police know. Detectives love it according to Slovak media strongly consider that the perpetrator acted out of homophobia.
The shooting happened just after 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at Teplaren, an LGBT bar in Bratislava’s old town. According to witnesses, the shooter about ten bullets have fired. Three people were hit, two of whom did not survive. Both were men under thirty; one of them worked at the cafe. The perpetrator would have hung out at the cafe for a while before he shot, according to witnesses. Afterwards, the gunman fled. Authorities have not yet released how he died.
A few hours before the attack, the perpetrator published a hate manifesto via an anonymous Twitter account, Slovak media reported. It would according to the newspaper SME These are 19-year-old Juraj K., who in the manifesto expressed his distaste for LGBT people and Jews. He would also have posted messages announcing his act. Afterwards, messages would also have appeared on the profile stating that the perpetrator “didn’t regret anything”.
