Gündoğan wants to return to faction on Monday despite increasing quarrels

Member of Parliament Nilüfer Gündoğan says on Monday that he wants to return to the Volt faction while the conflict between her and the Parliamentary faction continues to increase. In the Jinek program she says, flanked by her lawyers Geert-Jan and Carrie Knoops, that it is her right to return to the faction. She hopes that things will work out between her and party leader Laurens Dassen and Member of Parliament Marieke Koekkoek.

Gundoğan was expelled from the group last month after reports of transgressive behavior, but in summary proceedings the judge ruled that she should be allowed to return. She would talk to Dassen about the return, among other things, under the guidance of a mediator.

Both Dassen and the Volt party board want Gündoğan to first withdraw the defamation and defamation charges against the thirteen people who reported transgressive behavior. Employees of the Volt faction would also not want to work with Gündoğan as long as they leave the declarations, sources reported earlier. Presenter Eva Jinek stated that all employees will call in sick when Gündoğan returns.

But Gündoğan has just expanded the declaration, she tells Jinek, instead of withdrawing it. She will not disclose further details. After an NRC publication last Sunday, in which five reporters spoke anonymously, Gündoğan knows “what is really going on”. According to her lawyers, Gündoğan can substantiate this with documents that she has handed over to the Public Prosecution Service. According to Carrie Knoops, what exactly it is about is “ripe for an investigation”, but not something to discuss at a talk show table.

In NRC, a reporter said that Gündoğan made unwanted advances towards him. Someone else reported that Gündoğan hit her on the buttocks while she was still a minor. Previous reports against Gündoğan have alleged “harassment”, “abuse of power” and “pawing”.

Gündoğan denies the allegations from NRC on Thursday evening. The MP says that she is “very result-driven” and her lawyer also calls her “strict” for her employees. “But is that intimidation? I’m just trying to get results.”
