Gundogan reconsiders steps against Volt | 1Limburg

Member of Parliament Nilüfer Gündogan is considering ‘possible steps’ that she can take, now that the Volt parliamentary group is on the point of depriving her of her parliamentary membership once again. The party member, who grew up in Weert, writes this in a statement on Twitter.

Voting on position
On Friday, party chairman Laurens Dassen announced that the group, further consisting of Marieke Koekkoek, will vote on Gündogan’s position on Tuesday. Gundogan himself will probably be there.

Verdict
Before the group can expel Gündogan, the group rules must first be changed. According to the MP, this undermines a court ruling earlier this month. It ruled that an earlier suspension and expulsion from the MP’s group had to be reversed. According to Gundogan, against whom reports have been made of, among other things, “pawing” and “intimidation”, it is “evident” that Volt now does not want her to return to the faction at all costs.

‘A lot of wisdom’
If she is expelled from the group, Gundogan will take her seat and continue as an independent MP, she said earlier. She now concludes her statement by wishing Volt “great wisdom.”
