According to media reports, FC Barcelona has intensified its efforts to sign German national soccer player Ilkay Gündogan.
Gündogan’s uncle, who advises the 32-year-old Manchester City captain, met with the Catalans’ sporting officials, as first reported by Spanish journalist Gerard Romero and published a video about it. Ilhan Gündogan also represents Barça professional Andreas Christensen.
Gündogan’s contract with City expires at the end of the season, so he can switch free of charge in the summer. The media had already reported an interest from Barcelona in mid-January.
Gündogan has played in the Premier League since moving from Borussia Dortmund in 2016.
