Victim Jihad and prime suspect Hamid were once partners in crime, but later became rivals in love. They were in love with the same woman and both had a relationship with her. That was incidentally independent of each other, so that there was no question of adultery, according to those involved.
At a certain point the situation arose that Hamid made an offer to Jafo from Enschede. He would receive 50,000 euros if he disappeared from her life so that Hamid could continue with the woman. After he had already touched twenty thousand euros, he announced that he still wanted to stay with the woman. Much to Hamid’s anger.
Despite being diametrically opposed, they kept in touch. In fact, they had plans for a new drug shipment. Justice suspects that that fatal evening December 6 would happen. For example, Jihad’s children had told them at school that ‘daddy would soon have a lot of money again’.
Based on a gap in the timeline, justice assumes that the body was dumped in the canal the following evening, after the shooting. Hamid S. would have done this on his way back from his halal supermarket in Hoogeveen, where his shop assistant Hassan would have helped him.
