Last minute access! On Saturday night, the police in Berlin-Friedrichshain stopped a knifeman just in time.
According to initial information, at least nine people got into a fight shortly before 1 a.m. under the Warsaw Bridge (Tamara-Danz-Strasse).
Suddenly, a plainclothes officer from the Operational Hot Spot Unit noticed a man already holding a knife behind his back, ready to attack!

The police immediately identified themselves, drew their service weapons and loudly threatened to use firearms if the knife was not dropped immediately. The knifeman and the other men were arrested.
At least four people were temporarily deprived of their liberty. A hunting knife with a 11.5 cm blade and a folding knife were seized.
At least one minor was handcuffed to a police station at Ostbahnhof for clarification of identity. He was then handed over to his parents. The young man put up a lot of resistance, a breath alcohol test showed more than 1.14 per mille.
After around 60 minutes of on-site investigations, all the people involved were able to continue on their way. The police are investigating a threat and a knife threat.
According to BZ information, the young men are already known to the police for other crimes.
