Guido Weijers has closed the comments under one of his Instagram posts because of the many hate messages about Claudia de Breij. “Congratulations to everyone who caused this.”

They can both be seen on New Year’s Eve with a TV conference: Claudia de Breij and Guido Weijers. However, it doesn’t feel like a competitive battle for him and that’s why he posted a joint photo on his Instagram yesterday. He adds: “Competitor or colleague? At the beginning of this month I visited De Oudejaars by Claudia de Breij in Maastricht.”

Cabaret battle

What did Guido think of the show? “I enjoyed her wonderful show! And journalists keep asking: Who is going to win? To win? Art is not a competition! That’s what stupid people do. I do apples and Claudia pears. And ratings? Okay… NPO1 is four times bigger than RTL4, so that’s not a question either.”

Claudia has made a great conference, says Guido. “Lovely people. Claudia gives people a beautiful show with emotion and laughter in the theater. I do the same my way. You don’t have to choose sides. Give each other the world and each other’s opinion. Me, Claudia and the audience, we’re all winners. Best wishes in advance! ❤️”

Hate comments

Today, a day later, Guido informs us that he has had to close the comments under this post. UPDATE: Due to threats and hate, the comment section on this post has been closed. Congratulations to everyone who caused this. I also wish you all the love.”

He adds in a video message: “Oh, about the previous message: I am not the one who is being threatened or who is receiving hate. I don’t feel like letting other people piss off on my Instagram.”

Love

Guido only wants positivity on his platform. “My Instagram represents connection, represents love. That other people find things; don’t blame me for that.”

“If you have a problem with me wishing other people well, that is your problem.”
