Gudra leaves Hannover 96 and joins TSV Steinbach

Last 8 goals in the RL-Nord

Offensive Mick Gudra is moving from Hannover 96 to the regional league club TSV Steinbach Haiger. The 21-year-old, who is said to have been in contact with SC Heerenveen and Borussia Dortmund II, signed a contract with the Hessians until 2024. According to TM information, the transfer fee is in the five-digit range, and 96 also secured a stake in one possible resale.

Gudra contributed eight goals and nine assists in 25 games for Lower Saxony’s second team last season. In the summer of 2020, he was promoted to the first team at Hannover 96 from the U19s, having previously contributed to 17 goals in 13 games in the U19 Bundesliga. A cruciate ligament rupture shortly beforehand delayed the attacking midfielder’s professional debut. Although he scored in his second brief spell under then-coach Kenan Kocak in February 2021, he only made four more appearances in the first team.

Despite the current contract until 2023, Gudras am Maschsee’s sporting prospects had declined in view of Hanover’s most recent transfer offensive, and regular periods of service in Stefan Leitl’s professional squad seemed unlikely given the competition.
