The ‘Gucci Cosmos’ exhibition moves on.
After the traveling exhibition last year Shanghai and London, another destination has now been found in Kyoto, Gucci announced on Tuesday. The Japanese city is also a sister city to Florence, the Italian home of the fashion house.
In the Kyoto City Kyocera Museum of Art, visitors take a journey through the fashion house’s more than 100-year history, providing insights into the design archive and the applied craftsmanship of its designs.
As in previous exhibition locations, part of ‘Gucci Cosmos’ is dedicated to the history of its host – the heritage of Kyoto as well as the traditions and achievements of Japan. The traveling exhibition was curated by the Italian media theorist Maria Luisa Frisa.
‘Gucci Cosmos’ will be on display at the Kyoto City Kyocera Museum of Art in the Sakyō-ku district from October 1st to December 1st.
