Defense specialist Gedeon Guardiola has terminated his contract with handball Bundesliga club HC Erlangen with immediate effect.
The club announced on Tuesday that the Spaniard was moving to a first division club in his home country at short notice. The 39-year-old only moved from TBV Lemgo to Erlangen at the start of the season.
Guardiola wanted to accept the offer in order to take part in the Olympic Games in Paris. Erlangen’s managing director Rene Selke regretted the departure, but he respected the player’s wish for more playing time and granted the request for a contract termination.
