The fans are already eagerly waiting for GTA 6. Their thirst for the video game is being quenched with various leaks and announcements. An announcement of the official trailer by Rockstar Games is now breaking records. TECHBOOK reveals what this is all about.
The US publishers and developers at Rockstar Games have sent the entire GTA community into an uproar with a seemingly harmless tweet. More specifically, it’s about the official trailer for GTA 6, which is due to appear soon.
Record after GTA 6 trailer announcement
The head of Rockstar Games, Sam Houser, has made the hearts of GTA fans beat faster. A post of his on X (formerly Twitter) reached record numbers within a very short time. In fact, the tweet did not contain any specific data or information. Rather, Houser just announced that the first trailer for GTA 6 will be released in December. Despite this, the tweet was viewed around 170 million times, retweeted over 500,000 times, bookmarked over 50,000 times and liked over 1.5 million times.
Okami Games, a mobile game developer, wrote X: “Rockstar’s tweet announcing the GTA 6 trailer is now the gaming tweet with the most likes of all time.” If you look at the development of interactions, the likes, retweets, etc. continue to increase.
When is GTA 6 actually coming?
When it comes to trailers, a hot lead leads to “The Game Awards”. While Rockstar Games announced the first trailer for GTA 6 on November 8th, gaming journalist Geoff Keighley wrote that the Game Awards will take place on December 7th. He produces and hosts the awards. It is not known whether this is an indication of the trailer’s specific release date. It is still conceivable, as new games will also be presented at this award ceremony. The comment column under this tweet is also full of GTA content.
As already mentioned, there was no release date in Sam Houser’s tweet and there were no hints. It’s quite unusual that the release of GTA 6 has already taken so long. Typically, the release of a GTA title occurred no more than four years after a game was released. It’s been 10 years since GTA V was released.
