Growth brilliant Jayden Addai has idol Myron Boadu as a teacher: “Contact him”

The matches against FC Volendam (3-0 win) and Zrinjski Mostar (1-0 win) are unforgettable for Jayden Addai. The only 18-year-old winger made his debut in the Premier League and tonight in the Conference League. “You just want to play both, but European is always a bit bigger.”

It was striking that the AZ fans cheered loudly the moment Addai entered the lines. They shouted louder than the other substitutions at the same time, indicating that he is already a crowd favorite. “I think the fans like me. I’m happy with that, because you also want to show the fans and help AZ.”

Idol and teacher

Addai has now been playing for AZ for ten years and has seen many predecessors in action from the stands. His great idols were Myron Boadu, Vincent Janssen and Giovanni Dos Santos. “I sometimes have contact with Myron,” says Addai about the former AZ striker, who provides the winger with advice.

Addai is considered a great talent from AZ’s youth academy. He won the Youth League with the Under-19s last year. He was even accurate in the final against Hajduk Split (5-0 win). In doing so, he put himself on the map among the general public for the first time. This will now be followed up with two substitute appearances for the first team.
