Christmas and party? Then most people in Ruinerwold think of the Klok discotheque, but the well-known entertainment venue is no longer there. A shame, say seven friends from the village. That is why they organize several parties during Christmas itself.
“We used to always go to Klok, but that is no longer possible,” explains Kian Compagner of the organization. “More and more discos and bars in the area are closing, so we decided to organize a party ourselves. Especially for the youth, but everyone is of course welcome.”
It is the boys’ first time organizing a major event. The kick-off took place on Saturday, when the first party was celebrated in a large party tent along the Dokter Larijweg in Ruinerwold. The evening was sold out. “We received about 900 people and we had no trouble at all,” laughs co-organizer Rick Mulder.
People who want to dance can go to the party tent again tonight. Then the second party starts, but the friends have noticed that there is a lot involved when you organize a big party. “We started in February and we thought: we’ll do this for a while. But that wasn’t the case,” Mulder continues. “You have to think about safety, arranging the tent, drinks, ATMs, you name it.”
