Group of AZ supporters arrested for singing anti-Semitic songs in the metro

Last night, the police arrested 154 AZ supporters who sang anti-Semitic songs in the metro towards the Johan Cruijff Arena. The metro has been shut down by the police and supporters have been arrested on suspicion of group insult. Eleven people spent the night in jail.

The supporters were warned several times by officers to stop singing. The metro was stopped at 7.30 pm at the Strandvliet metro station.

The police have arrested all supporters who sang along with the songs. They were then taken to the cell complex.

The police do not want to say which songs were sung exactly. However, it would be about more than the chanting of ‘Jews, Jews’ that can often be heard around Ajax matches.

Also destruction

The group of supporters would also have crossed the line in other areas. For example, according to the police, vandalism has also been caused in the subway car. Video footage after the arrest shows that a bus was also severely damaged.

Eleven of the 154 supporters spent the night in jail. They allegedly destroyed the bus. According to the police, they also insulted and assaulted several officers.
