It should have been the party of Oliver Zeidler, who trains daily on the Olympic rowing course near Munich and where his grandfather became Olympic champion in 1972. In the run-up to the European Championships, the German media was full of the possibility that Zeidler would win an important title after 50 years on the same rowing course as his grandfather.
