Dortmund (dpa) – The German Handball Federation and women’s national coach Henk Groener have ended their cooperation with immediate effect.
The DHB announced that it was not possible to agree on an extension of the contract with the 61-year-old Dutchman, which expires at the end of April. Groener, who took office in January 2018, will no longer look after the DHB selection at the final European Championship qualifier in Greece on April 20.
“We have been in intensive dialogue for several weeks and, as has already been publicly communicated, we would like to extend the contract with Henk Groener,” said DHB sports director Axel Kromer. “Unfortunately, we couldn’t find each other in terms of content. The full focus is now on the search for a successor.”
