“Continue on the common path”
After a year and a half on loan, Luca Itter will also be a permanent member of the SpVgg Greuther Fürth squad from the coming season. On Friday, the Bundesliga relegated team announced the whereabouts of the 23-year-old left-back, who was signed by SC Freiburg. Neither club gave any information about the transfer modalities, the contract with “Kleeblatt” runs until 2025.
“It was clear to me that I definitely wanted to stay in Fürth and that we would continue on our common path. I feel really good at Kleeblatt, so I’m very happy that I’ve managed to stay here,” said Itter, who came from VfL Wolfsburg’s youth team and moved to Freiburg in 2019. There he was only used three times for the professionals and came to Fürth in winter 2020/21. The left-footed player managed promotion with the middle Franconians and played 24 games in the past Bundesliga season (one assist). Hannover 96 was also said to be interested recently.

“In Luca we were able to retain another young player who, despite his 23 years, already has a lot of experience. Luca gives it his all in every training session and always wants to improve. He has developed enormously with us in the last year and a half. Now he can take his next steps here and also take on more responsibility in the team. He has a great identification with us and shares the values of the game association, “says sporting director Rachid Azzouzi.
