The Salute from Schoorl Run that was to take place on Sunday 13 February has been cancelled. This has been decided by sports organization Le Champion in consultation with the municipality of Bergen. The reason for this was the most recent press conference about the corona measures. According to the sports organization, this showed that in the short term there is ‘no prospect’ for letting events go ahead.
It would be the 43rd edition of the Groet uit Schoorl Run. On February 13, 10,000 runners were expected on the course through the Schoorlse Duinen.
The Dutch Championship 10 km would also be held there. The running event is nationally known as a fast track, where personal bests are broken every year. Le Champion is still investigating whether the Dutch Championship can take place at another time.
All registered participants will receive a refund of the registration fee, less the costs incurred by the organization in preparation for the events, media partner reports. Dune Region Central.
In 2023, the Groet uit Schoorl Run is on the program for Sunday 12 February. Registration opens mid-September.
