Green work: the new professions in nature

THEn a world that is every day more digitalized and oriented towards forms of work that, by necessity or habit, have always tended to take place in “closed” places and environments where spaces and areas used for green areas are at a minimum, more and more young people tend to seek professional opportunities that can lead them to embrace a greener lifestylebreaking away from such conventions.

A course for those who love nature

No more monitors, cell phones and desks, therefore, but woods, meadows and valleys, for a generation that is proving to be fully aware of its (fundamental) role in the game of safeguarding the ecosystem and fighting climate change. And it is precisely for them that he was born Sofidel4Talentthe forest conservation and management course launched by Sofidel And WWF Italy to celebrate their 15 years of partnership, aimed at undergraduates and recent graduates who want to make their passion for nature a real profession, giving them the opportunity of a first and immersive experience in the sector.

The green professions of tomorrow

A stimulating and ad hoc path, therefore, for young people who are looking for a greener future, even in work. But what exactly are the so-called green professionsthat is, those jobs that allow you to spend most of your time outdoors and in contact with nature?

In addition to well-known works such as the Forest Guard and the Forest Manager, especially in recent years the sector has been enriched with a wide range of opportunities linked to new professions regarding recreational and / or educational activitiessuch as the Forest Therapistexpert in the oriental practice of forest therapy, or that require specific vertical skills and knowledgelike it Short Rotation Plantation Manager, the person in charge of crop rotation and planting new trees. In addition to these, there are other works such as the Forest Fire Fightera figure specialized in extinguishing and preventing forest fires, which require specific training and equipment other than those used in urban areas.

Sofidel4Talent, where and when it is held

A lot of work for a single great goal, the protection and proper management of the environment that surrounds us, in the name of a greener future even in work. And that’s exactly what he aspires to Sofidel4Talentas well as the other Sofidel and WWF initiatives in recent years. The course, lasting three days, will be held between 27 and 29 May between WWF Biodiversity Museum of Monticiano and the Alto Merese Nature Reservein the province of Siena, between suggestive panoramas and uncontaminated environments, to discover the great wealth of biodiversity of our wonderful ecosystem. Applications to participate in the project are open until April 15th on the site of Sofidel4Talent.

A small initiative for a great future goal, dedicated to those who can’t wait (they too) to say “I leave everything and go to live in the woods”.
