Green light for law that allows use of Passenger Locator Form and travel restrictions even outside of pandemic | Domestic

Like other countries, Belgium introduced a Passenger Locator Form (PLF) during the corona period to check the health status of people arriving in our country. The government could fall back on the so-called Pandemic Act of 2021 to use such a control tool. However, the law has no longer been in force since March 2022. The new draft law should provide a legal basis for the use of the PLF when the Pandemic Act has not been activated.

The text of the law also specifies the role of the Information Security Committee (IVC). This has specific tasks in the field of information security. Last week, the majority made a number of changes to the design in connection with the same IVC, after advice from the Council of State, but these did not convince the opposition.
