25 years of green fashion in Hofheim-Wallau near Frankfurt; A quarter of a century full of successes and developments, solidarity, challenges and lots and lots of passion – the INNATEX community will celebrate all of this next summer from July 29th to 31st. Because that’s how old the international trade fair for sustainable textiles near Frankfurt am Main is getting.
“I can’t even say how pleased we are that after a long phase of restrictions caused by the pandemic, we are finally able to plan a trade fair largely freely again,” says AlexanderWärmel, Project Manager of INNATEX. “We have a lot planned. Of course, it should primarily be about the order, but we also want to have a good time. The community deserves that.”
Since the beginning of INNATEX, the makers of green fashion have made a lot of progress. At that time, people smiled at the industry and could not see that it would one day become a serious and indispensable branch of the economy.
A long way full of progress – and far from finished
The offer was very limited with the focus on women’s and baby clothing made from natural textiles. “It was difficult for me to find parts for myself,” recalls Hitzel. “Today, the industry has become more professional and is characterized by a huge variety, which is also presented at INNATEX.”
Demand and urgency are increasing and with them the requirements. In the past, it was important to make the production steps fair and environmentally friendly, so that green fashion could keep up with conventional fashion in terms of aesthetics and quality.
Today, the experts face more complex challenges such as tracking along the entire supply chain, closed product cycles and climate protection. Of course, the public must continue to raise awareness of real prices and sensible forms of consumption.
INNATEX participants will be able to discuss these and other topics in the community area with initiatives such as GOTS, Fairtrade, Femnet and IVN. The trade fair catalog includes over 200 exhibitors with pioneers and newcomers. The organizing MUVEO GmbH is also planning the comeback of Design Discoveries and a newly designed outdoor area with festival character. “We cordially invite everyone to celebrate with us,” says Hitzel happily.
