Green Day perform “Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)” live with fan (video)

The trio brought a fan on stage in Paris to perform their 1997 track.

“SURPRISE! “We decided to hop on a plane and play a show in Paris,” Green Day wrote on their Instagram account last week, announcing their “Hella Tiny Tour.” Seemingly spontaneously, the rock band surprised their fan base with three gigs in three European cities. They had a particularly personal start in the French capital – the trio brought a fan onto the stage for the performance of “Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)”.

After the group, consisting of Billie Joe Armstrong, Tré Cool and Mike Dirnt, performed some of their hits – including “American Idiot”, “Holiday” and “Boulevard of Broken Dreams”, as well as their new track – on November 4th at the Bataclan Theater in Paris “Look Ma, No Brains” – a slightly different stage show followed. For their 1997 song “Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)” they received support from a fan who accompanied the work on the acoustic guitar. Armstrong sang into a shared microphone with his admirer. A guitar solo followed.

The performance in Paris was not the first time that Billie Joe Armstrong initiated a joint performance with fans. Back in May 2023, the singer surprised cover band Borderline Toxic in a London bar while they played his classic “Basket Case”. “When you go into a pub and the cover band starts playing your song,” the musician wrote in an Instagram post.
