It’s actually a shame we only discovered this lovely shop because the man was looking for a parcel drop off point nearby.
Because what we still lacked on our island of village bliss in Britz was an organic bakery and a nice breakfast café. We found both here this summer and have been there often on Sundays since then.
In a former garden market hall, the operators grow “Britzer herbs”, the rest was nicely covered with straw mats and expanded into a farm shop with a café. Self-made furniture and old chairs complete the rustic barn charm.
The concept of the young founders: support small, local and regional suppliers. Fruit, vegetables, selected dairy products, eggs, juices, wine are sold in the shop – almost everything is organic and made in Berlin.
The selection of wonderfully delicious and homemade cakes makes the decision almost impossible. This time the man takes a large piece of crumbled rhubarb (3.50 euros) and one of the incredibly delicious and crispy croissants (2.20 euros) to dip in the oat milk coffee (3.40 euros).
Because it’s so wonderful, I always stick to the salmon breakfast (9 euros) – a thick slice of fresh organic bread with smoked salmon and honey-mustard sauce. hmmmm
