On February 19, pop star Falco would have been 65 years old. To mark the occasion, the new greatest hits album “The Sound of Musik” will be released on February 4th.
The new album features the artist’s greatest hits in chronological order from 1981 to 1998 for the first time. There are also some re-edits on the album, such as “Rock Me Amadeus”, “Body Next To Body” and “Data De Groove”. . Some of these songs only appeared on rare promotional CDs and are rarely available today.
Two more releases in February
In addition to “The Sound of Music – The Greatest Hits”, two other special editions will be released in February: “Falco – The Box” is a vinyl box with three long players and a 12-inch single. The box contains Falco’s first three albums as well as the single vinyl, which features some original remixes from the 1980s.
The “Jeanny 12-inch picture vinyl” is the third release and contains the three parts of the “Jeanny” trilogy for the first time. In addition to “Jeanny”, the singles are “Coming Home (Jeanny Part 2, One Year After)” and the self-deprecating “Bar Minor 7/11 (Jeanny Dry”), as well as an ‘Extended Version’ and an English-language version.
The two special editions will then appear on February 11th. Falco died in a car accident in the Dominican Republic in 1998. With his work he is still considered one of the most successful musicians in Austria.
