Great diversity at the 30th Ceramic Market

On Ascension Day, Thursday, May 18, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., about ninety carefully selected ceramists from the Netherlands and abroad will show their work at the 30th Keramiekmarkt Noord-Nederland Dwingeloo.

Each market stall on the large green will be transformed into a small exhibition location. The organization of this grand event is in the hands of the board and working group of the Stichting Keramiekmarkt Noord-Nederland Dwingeloo.

Unlike on-site exhibitions, the ceramist himself is present here and you can talk to the artist about the shapes, colors and details of his or her work. Moreover, the work can be purchased immediately and taken with you. Due to the great diversity of the offer, people will certainly succeed in finding exactly that work of art that they are looking for. The visitor is also treated to a demonstration of Raku firing, large turning work and mosaic work, among other things. During the market, an expert jury assesses the work of the participating ceramists. This leads to the awarding of two prizes: the Keramiekprijs Noord Nederland, made available by Wiechers Wonen, and the Rotary Award for the best turning performance, made available by VEKA, a company in ceramic raw materials, and the Foundation itself. These prizes will be awarded at 3 p.m.

To enhance the atmosphere there is live music throughout the day. The entrance fee for this extensive event is 5 euros per person; children up to 12 years have free entry and can clay for free. Parking is possible at the ‘Long-Parking’ places at Brug-es and Brinkweg.
