British sprinter Chijindu Ujah has been banned from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics for 22 months for using banned substances.
After the 28-year-old athlete’s Ostarine and S-23 tests were positive, the silver medal of the Great Britain team in the men’s 4×100 meters relay was cancelled.
The Athletic Integrity Unit (AIU) and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) ruled that Ujah did not intentionally use a prohibited substance.
The two-year ineligibility sentence was reduced to two months because the athlete immediately admitted the violation. Launched on August 6, 2021, Ujah’s sentence will expire on June 5, 2023.
