Ryan Gravenberch from Ajax Amsterdam is currently closely associated with FC Bayern. According to Erik ten Hag, who trains the midfield talent at the traditional Dutch club, a move to Munich would be a good step for the youngster.
Ryan Gravenberch is one of the greatest talents in Dutch football. No wonder there is increasing speculation about a transfer of the 19-year-old. FC Bayern is currently the hottest contender for the hope of youngsters. According to media reports, those responsible in Munich have already made representations to Ajax.
“Ryan is a very young player, but he has already gained a lot of experience. He has played over 100 games in the Eredivisie, played in the Champions League and been called up for the national team,” said Amsterdam coach Erik ten Hag at “sports1” via Gravenberch.
Despite the rumors about a possible move to Bayern, ten Hag “still has hope that he will stay with us for a season.”
When asked whether a commitment in Munich would be a good step for Gravenberch, the Ajax coach replied: “Definitely! It would certainly be a tough job for him because there is a lot of competition at Bayern. But he’s also one of those Guy who needs a challenge. He can certainly adapt to such a high level of quality as at Bayern.”
Ten Hag did not receive a request from FC Bayern
Ten Hag knows the German record champions only too well. Between 2013 and 2015, the 52-year-old was in charge of FC Bayern’s second team before returning to the Eredivisie.
In autumn 2019, ten Hag was traded in Munich as the successor to the previously released Niko Kovac. “It’s nice when your name is associated with Bavaria,” said the Dutchman, looking at the rumors at the time: “But there was never an official request.”
