A dream recently came true for 88-year-old Mr. Lemmens: he was able to pick up his old passion, painting, again. And that in his own care center in Geulle.

The walls of Mr. Lemmens’ ward, in the Ave Maria care center in Geulle, could use a new coat of paint. When the grandfather saw the painters at work, it did not take long before he also had a brush in his hands.

An employee of the care center thought the moment was so special that she filmed it and shared a fragment online. Her post soon received hundreds of responses. “Thank you for your heartwarming reactions to this spontaneous moment! Together with the painters we managed to create and capture this beautiful moment. It’s great that you enjoy it as much as Mr. and we as the care team of this department! I’m going to see them tomorrow let the gentleman read all,” the employee writes on Facebook. The video has already been spotted on TikTok.
