Koopmans now has ‘grain from here’. Where is here? Not in my Vinex neighborhood. This shows ‘the southern region of South Holland’. And ‘sustainable’ means: flowers around the fields and 10 percent fewer pesticides than in regular cultivation, better soils, better biodiversity, less CO2emissions. Nice, you think. And then: is it sustainable enough? No quality mark to be seen anywhere. And what about all that other Koopmans flour? Is that not sustainable? And why not? But oh, look. A Dutch flag. On a mill, a church tower, a small house. As long as it’s Dutch, then it’s fine.
