Today the new ‘Turn the switch’ campaign on the urgency to combat climate change starts. The campaign addresses the need to protect our CO2emissions, emphasizes the joint effort that this requires from governments, companies and people at home and provides concrete advice on climate-friendly choices. The campaign therefore not only shows why it is important to become more sustainable, but also which major and minor choices can be made.

The Netherlands is becoming more sustainable step by step. More and more people, companies and organizations are making different choices. We are taking steps in the right direction, but we are not there yet. We have to start seeing sustainable living and doing business as something normal. Convert button. By dealing differently with energy and stuff, by traveling and eating differently. And to produce and do business differently. We all need to take bigger steps to combat climate change. Change is not always easy, but brings us a lot. Well-insulated and comfortable homes, quieter cities, cleaner air and economic opportunities.

Climate campaign

Last year, the national government started the first ‘Turn the switch’ campaign to encourage households and entrepreneurs to save energy with practical savings tips. The new campaign goes beyond saving energy and is about the urgency to combat climate change. About why this is necessary, what we are working towards, what is already happening, and what else governments, companies, organizations and people can do at home. Through Zetookdeknopom.nl concrete advice and examples are given for this purpose for companies, governments and other organizations and people at home.

Also turn the switch is a multi-year campaign. It can be seen in Dutch cinemas from Thursday 24 August. From August 26 in various newspapers and from August 28 on TV and radio. The campaign is an initiative of the ministries of EZK, BZK, LNV and I&W.
