Government engages in battle with drainages: “Adapting Flanders to the climate of the future”

In the margins of the budget discussions, the Flemish government has also reached an agreement on an integral Flemish climate adaptation plan to prepare the whole of Flanders for the changing climate by 2050. This reports Flemish Minister for the Environment Zuhal Demir (N-VA) in a press release. The plan includes the introduction of a permit requirement for drainages over approximately 36 percent of the Flemish territory.
