The Minister of Transport, Rachel Sanchezand the Minister of Territory of the Generalitat, Ester Capellahave agreed this Wednesday to double the frequencies of Rodalies in Lleida before the end of this year, in addition to improving the response time to incidents in this service in Catalonia.
This was explained by Capella in the press conference after this meeting, which took place at the ministerial headquarters, and which lasted for more than four hours, where the latest incidents in Rodalies were discussed, as well as road agreements. and the housing law, although a possible transfer of this railway service to the Generalitat has not been discussed, as the Catalan Government has been demanding.
In any case, Ester Capella has explained that the agreement regarding Rodalies has to do with increase service frequencies in Lleida by up to double and both Executives have committed to doing so before the end of the year.
The other agreement reached, which also has to do with Rodalies, refers to the response time to incidents, which Capella has highlighted will have a direct impact on the daily lives of citizens.
More transparency in incidents
In addition, the councilor has also announced that both parties have committed to working together to “provide an effective and efficient response” to Rodalies incidents, committed to transparency in these incidents and their causes.
What has not been discussed in this meeting has been the Generalitat’s demand for the transfer of Rodalies to the Governmentdespite the fact that in recent times they have asked Pedro Sánchez’s Executive again given the latest incidents in the service.
And the nature of the meeting between Raquel Sánchez and Ester Capella was about these incidents, since the minister had requested this meeting from the minister to address these issues and find a solution.
Other meeting business
But not only has that issue been discussed, but the status of the agreements has also been addressed so that Catalonia receives the 914 million euros associated with the management requests to carry out the works to improve the Pyrenean axis, the N-260; those of the pacification of the NII and the new accesses of the C32 in the Maresme; those of the new accesses to the AP7 and AP2, and the two railway interchanges between the Vallès Metro line of the Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) and the R8 of Cercanías Renfe in Volpelleres and the General Hospital.
In this context, the counselor believes that In approximately one month the texts of these agreements will have to be availablewhere the actions and how the management order is produced will be detailed, among other aspects.
